With different cultures (British, French, Spanish, Dutch), governments and political histories (democratic, autocratic), the standards of medical care and facilities vary from island to island in the Caribbean, and many of the chronic diseases found in highly developed countries are now prevalent throughout the region. With lifestyle changes over the years, Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and cancer are now prevalent and exact a great toll on the health of individuals and an untenable strain on the public health systems of these cash-strapped countries.
Information and outreach programs and activities CAMSA, can play a pivotal role in aiding
Caribbean peoples in combating these illnesses and staying healthy. We invite you to join us and be a part of this mission. Whether you’re a healthcare professional, community member or student with an interest in our mission, we have a place for you in CAMSA.

Membership Types
Regular Membership - $75
Open to health care professionals and scientists of Caribbean background who reside in the USA. Regular members have the right to make motions, vote, and hold elective office.
Affiliate Membership - $50
Open to health care professionals and scientists who reside in the Caribbean. Health care professionals and scientists in the US who work with Caribbean populations or in areas of relevance to the Caribbean are also eligible for Affiliate Membership. Other professionals who have expertise relevant to the aims and mission of the organization are also eligible for membership with approval of the Board of Directors. Affiliate members do not have the right to make motions, vote, or hold elective office.
Lifetime Membership - $500
Individuals and corporations may apply for lifetime membership under criteria to be developed by the Board of Directors.
Student Membership - $10
Open to students of Caribbean background in the health professions or the sciences. Student members do not have the right to make motions, vote, or hold elective office. Dues for students may be waived at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
Honorary Membership
Honorary membership is bestowed at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Fee not applicable.
The Board of Directors may elect as honorary members (on the basis of position, honor or eminence in the community) persons who would not ordinarily qualify for membership in the association. Organizations are also eligible for honorary membership based on similar criteria. Honorary members shall be designated as Honorary Members of the Caribbean Medical and Scientific Association, Inc. and have such privileges as the Board of Director shall determine. Honorary members have all the rights of regular members except the right to make motions, vote, or hold elective office.
